This class series is for labor & delivery nurses who want to advance their skills in supporting birth.  We will practice hands on skills, have discussions in small groups, troubleshoot common problems and navigate solutions together, and work through case scenarios.

From Palpation To Auscultation: Physiologic Birth Assessment Skills (April 30th)

Deepen your assessment skills in birth, including: working with fetal palpation, assessing labor progress, auscultation of fetal heart rate, and more.

Emergency Drills: A Physiologic Approach (June 24th)

Get to know your own nervous system response in emergencies.  We will run multiple scenarios and take time to discuss common barriers to cohesive teamwork.  Next time you are in a shoulder dystocia or meet that surprise breech, you will feel confident and grounded!

Advanced Labor Support Skills (August 26th)

Gain confidence with unmedicated labors.  Understand the arc of labor and which techniques might help when.  Hands on skills we will practice include: sacral pressure, sterile water injections, acupressure points, psoas release, occiput release, and more...

Finding More Ease In Second Stage (October 29th)

Let's find a little more ease in second stage!  Starting with understanding the physiologic mechanisms of pushing.  What is open glottis pushing, anyway?  How do we push effectively with an epidural?  We will identify barriers to progress and how to resolve them.

Collaborative Communication: Speak & Be Heard (December 16th)

How does the nervous system impact our ability to listen?  How do we hold boundaries with difficult people?   Addressing common communication challenges, we'll pull from the lived experience of class participants and apply a method for compassionate, effective communication.

Location: To be determined, but will be in North Seattle.

​5 CEUs per class (25 CEUs for the full series) have been applied for.​​

$250 per class or purchase all 5 classes for $1000

Payment plan available at $100/month for full series.
